The Great Discussion

In 2019, we launched a brand-new event called the Great Discussion.

What was it all about?

Join the Great Discussion and share your thoughts on The Big Read’s Town Vote winning children’s book.
 
This fun, interactive session was for children and adults alike and was a chance to talk about the best bits of this well-loved Roald Dahl classic.  Led by Fenella Reekie, Head Teacher at Cookham Dean, and supported by Maidenhead Library team, it was filled with fun games to get everyone sharing.

The session included:

• Whole group discussion about the book and Roald Dahl.  Share what your best bit was and why Roald Dahl is so popular.
• Smaller group workshops including the fun game "Get the ball rolling" and talking more in-depth about the characters in The Twits and what would we change about the story.
