Mary Nondé: Non-Fiction Adult Author & Life Coach

Mary Nondé is an Intuitive Life Coach and author of Awaken Your Intuitive Vision.

When her daughter was seven, she returned to University (first time around to study Anthropology) and did an MA in Somatic Arts Psychotherapy. Towards the end of her studies she designed the Intuitive Vision Board process which she still teaches 10 years later and has taken over 1,300 people through it.

Four years into teaching, Mary was tested big time when a tornado whipped through her life and flattened the lot. She lost everything of financial consequence almost all at once – her partner, home, belongings, career, her savings, credit, pensions and inheritance. Fortunately it left Mary, her daughter and their dog intact and together they started all over again.
Picture
It was a devastating moment and broke her heart. But there was a gift in it too. It wasn’t until disaster struck did she realise how intelligent and potent the Intuitive Vision Board was. The Intuitive Vision Board she made three months into the crises proved to be the game-changer and the lifeline she needed to steer her way through the challenges she faced.

If it could rescue her from the depths of despair, no doubt at all it could help others who had reached an impasse discover what they can do next. It’s this wisdom and knowledge she now shares through her book, her talk, and her workshops to provide hope, inspiration and encouragement to people and situations where at first it can appear absent.

Pamela Chen: Culinary Presenter & Cultural Educator

Pamela grew up in a conventional Taiwanese family – eldest of two children to a stonemason father and seamstress mother.  After a chance meeting with an Englishman, she moved to rural England, got married and started a family. Having experienced a traditional eastern childhood, life in the west was full of surprises!

Having lived  two very different lives has given her a unique insight into both eastern and western culture. She always knew she wanted to preserve her Taiwanese heritage in the kitchen, and to inject it with  western influences that made it accessible to everyone. She developed her career as a cookery teacher and presenter, cultural educator and public speaker. She loves nothing more than bringing family and friends together with her mouth-watering home cooking and sharing colourful anecdotes and stories that bring her two very different worlds to life.
Picture
Pamela loves to inspire people to create great-tasting homemade meals that are both quick and affordable to cook. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge, skills and enthusiasm for oriental food and showing people of all ages that it really is one of the simplest and quickest cuisines to pick up… and cook up! Using the enjoyment of food and culture to educate and empower people to improve wellbeing through food, respect and relationships is what really drives her.

The heart of her business is more than changing the way we eat: she wants to change the way we relate to others.  Ultimately, Pamela's goal is to direct most of her business profits to support social projects working with underprivileged communities and tackling the issue of reducing food waste and food poverty, and providing training and employment opportunities for homeless people.

Susanna Beard: Author of Psychological Thrillers

Susanna is fascinated by human relationships. She can be found people-watching wherever she goes, finding material for her writing. Her passions include animals — particularly her dogs — walking in the countryside and tennis, which clears her brain of pretty much everything.

Having always loved language and writing, Susanna's career to date both demands and celebrates writing. Writing fiction is forever new and joyful - it's fun, and difficult, and frustrating, and wonderful. It offers a freedom from constraint which is refreshing and full of wonder.

As a writer and a reader, Susanna likes dark, contemplative stories with a twist. She is fascinated by the psychology of relationships and the impact of insignificant events on people's lives.... And the unfolding drama.... She aims to keep writing, and never to get old.
Picture
Published Books
Susanna's debut novel, Dare to Remember, was launched in 2017. "Reeling from a brutal attack that leaves her badly injured and her best friend dead, Lisa Fulbrook flees to the countryside to recuperate. With only vague memories of the event, she isolates herself from her friends and family, content to spend her days wandering the hills with her dog, Riley."

Her second novel, The Truth Waits, was published in paperback and ebook in 2018. It's a psychological thriller, partly set in Lithuania. "Anna has everything worked out – a successful company, all the comforts she needs and no ties. But when she stumbles across the body of a young girl on a deserted beach in Lithuania, everything changes."

Both books are published by Legend Press.

Devil Gate Dawn (2016)

Anthony Perry: Children's Author

Tony grew up in Oklahoma in the United States and now lives in England with his wife and young children. He works as a quality improvement manager in the National Health Service in England and volunteers with hospitals in Pakistan to improve health services. He loves history and enjoys spending time with his family and travelling.

He has an undergraduate degree in comparative religion from Dartmouth College, a master's degree in public health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a master's degree in public policy from Birkbeck College, University of London.

Tony's experience of his father’s sudden death and the need to connect with his Chickasaw (Native American) ancestry led to this well-executed and vivid coming of-age story that not only acts as an introduction to Chickasaw heritage and culture, but explores the concepts of grief, revenge, and compassion.
Picture
Building on his experience with Chula the Fox, Tony is now working on two other projects: An account of a Chickasaw Chief’s visit to England between 1743-1746 and his role in British history, and a picture book with two other Native American aut+hors that tells the American  Thanksgiving story from a Native American point of view.

Published Books
Chula the Fox is a middle grade historical novel, steeped in Chickasaw language and culture and set in the early 1700s in the Chickasaw Homeland, near present-day Mississippi. It tells an honest and often frank story about Chickasaw lives and the challenges Tony's Native American ancestors faced during the early eighteenth century. Chula, a Chickasaw boy, is suddenly thrown into the murky and treacherous worlds of warfare and adulthood after a traumatic ambush costs him his father.

Left haunted by a restless spirit, Chula concludes, in line with the customs of his time, that only vengeance will make things right again. With the help of his Uncle Lheotubby, and armed with a brand-new musket, Chula hones his skills to become one of the revered Chickasaw warriors. He vows to join a raid against the enemy, regardless of his youth, to avenge his father and put his spirit at peace. But Chula, his heart full of questions, finds that the greatest war rages within himself. It seems he is foiled at every turn by his nemesis, Nukni, and inwardly he is ambushed by self-doubt.

Is Chula destined for the path of the warrior, or will a different future await him?
